Slavic, Russian, or European hair: what the names mean

These three names describe the same donor base. Some suppliers call it “Russian hair,” others “Slavic hair,” and wholesale price lists often file all of it under “European hair.” The hair itself doesn’t change with the label: fine cuticle, natural blonde available, soft movement.

What does change between batches is the country of origin, because it depends on which donors are available at the time. If a specific country matters to you or your clients, say so when you ask for a quote and we’ll tell you what the current batch is. Why buyers pay more for Slavic hair

• Fine, soft texture. The cuticle is finer than Asian or Uzbek hair, so wigs and extensions blend with the hair of clients in Western Europe and North America.
• Natural blonde. Slavic hair is one of the few origins where blonde exists without bleaching. Light-shade lines can start from a natural base and skip processing steps.
• Less processing. Hair that is already fine and soft needs less work to reach a finished result, so more of the cuticle survives.
• Scarce supply. The donor pool is small and not growing. That is the main reason for the price.

Slavic vs Uzbek vs Asian hair

Slavic hair is the finest and lightest of the three, the only one with natural blonde, and the most expensive. Uzbek hair is also fine and silky but naturally dark, and costs less, which makes it the usual choice for dark-shade lines that still need a European-like texture. Asian hair has the thickest cuticle and the lowest price, and suits high-volume weft production in black and dark brown. If your product is light blonde, or your clients have fine hair, Slavic is worth the premium. If not, one of the other two may do the job for less.

What to ask a Russian hair vendor before you order

• Is the hair coated? Silicone makes hair feel silky in a sample and then wears off after a few washes in the client’s hands. We don’t use silicone or surface coatings.
• Is the cuticle aligned? Hair that wasn’t kept root-to-tip after cutting will tangle once it’s in a weft.
• Is the blonde natural or bleached? Both are fine, but they are different products at different prices. You should know which one you’re paying for.
• Where is the hair now, and who ships it? A supplier inside the EU means no customs delays for EU buyers and a clear point of contact if something is wrong.
• Can I see this batch first? Ask for photos or video of the actual batch, or a sample, before a full production order.

Is Russian hair the same as Slavic hair?

Yes. Both names describe hair from donors in Russia, Ukraine, and neighbouring Eastern European countries. “European hair” usually means the same thing too. The label depends on the seller and the market, not on the hair.

Are you a Russian hair factory?

No. We are a supplier based in Germany. We source, sort, and supply the hair, and we make custom extensions to order. We don’t run a factory in Russia. If you need the hair processed to a particular standard before it ships, include that in your enquiry and we’ll confirm what we can do.

What shades does Slavic hair come in?

Natural shades run from light blonde through medium brown to dark brown. Natural light blonde is the scarcest and most expensive. We also supply bleached hair for buyers who need lighter shades than the natural stock offers.

Can I buy Slavic hair extensions wholesale?

Yes. We make wefts, keratin capsules, tapes, and clip-ins from Slavic hair to your specification, or you can buy the raw hair by the kilogram and make them yourself.

What is the minimum order?
